In the codex they're painted a fleshy sort of colour. So I guess that's the "official" scheme.

But IMO just paint it whatever way you think looks best.

The pictures I'm describing, I guess you could call it "red" in the sense it's a reddish flesh tone, but it's not a deep red like the rest of the skin, more of a pale fleshy red.

I have the epub digital codex which makes referencing a location a nightmare In the section called "Colours of the Hive Fleets", the first picture is a Behemoth swarm fighting some Ultramarines with a Flyrant and a couple of Harpies/Crones/whatever. Later in the same section after some pictures of some Hormagaunts there's another Behemoth Flyrant, then later on there's a picture of 3 Gargoyles, one of which is a Behemoth.

That's just the one that's in the codex so I consider that "official" in that sense, but I reckon just paint it whatever colour you like, I don't think there's any strong fluff reason why they're that colour and GW may change their mind in the future anyway.

That said, I think the flesh tone offsets the red really nicely and IMO the official colour looks better than most other Behemoth variants I've seen.

EDIT: I was flicking through my 5th edition Tyranid codex and noticed on page 73 the Behemoth Gargoyles actually have a darker brown for their wing membranes. So I guess GW changed from the brown to the flesh colour at some point when the Flyrant and Harpy/Crone models were released (I don't think the Flyrant and Harpy/Crone models existed when the 5th edition codex came out). They probably changed because the fleshy tone gives more contrast so makes the flyer models stand out more.
