Now Live!

And with a nice looking submarine model, among other things!

The submarine will come with a detailed coral reef base and will have a full cockpit interior with windows cast in clear resin to allow for viewing of the pilot.

We are also producing new miniatures for DeepWars, shown below.

Stretch Goals:

The $10000 stretch goal is the Ol' Ginny Greenteeth, the Sea Hag. a witch of terrible power with an appetite for human flesh. This model will be 32 mm tall will be sculpted by Valerio Terranova, our 3D designer of the submarine and many other of our models.

Next up is the Carangaform Mech Swarm for the Ancients. These shoals of small mechanical constructs swarm around targets, slashing with sharp teeth and fins and leave victims torn to pieces, drifting with the tide.

The next stretch goal is another Submersible for the Ancients of Atalán, the Sea Wraith. This will be another huge and detailed resin kit of around 180mm in length. The Sea Wraiths are designed with a shallow draft so they can pass over the jagged corals within shallow reef zones and can transport up to six troopers.

Currently at 20 backers and $2500.

I hope we can get to 100 backers and at least $16K!

I love that submarine and all of Antimatter Games work. I just end up hating point or coin systems in kickstarters so I can never bring myself to back. Hope it does fantastic however.

I'm sure it'll reach 16k and 100 backers. Their campaigns have done pretty well. Last Deep Wars was a great campaign, and I was quite happy with all the loot I got.

I'm looking forward to the Scaly Horde submersible myself, as it bears a few similarities to one of my favorite Monster Hunter designs.

Hopefully theirs can also go ashore and wreck havoc in ShadowSea as well.

Art from the last campaign showing the other 'subs' possible:

Dark Mariners

Scaly Horde

Here also is the "submersible" of the Scaly Horde, a massive Ancient Sea Dragon. Smaller models in the warband can hold onto its back spikes and be towed around by this beast.

The game is a lot of fun too - based off of the SoBH system, with a decent campaign/progression setup as well.

I love my Dark Mariners and was disappointed that their scout didn't get unlocked in the previous campaign. I'm absolutely going in on this.

Update!

Update #2

Jun 21 2017

Funded! On to the stretch goals.

Thanks to all the backers, funding has been achieved! We have a lot of time left for stretch goals, starting with the Sea Hag, Ol' Ginny Greenteeth. This model is a deadly spellcaster for the Nereids of Blood Reef, able to cast spells from the Witchcraft list.

"Once the most fair of the Nereids, Galateia was lured to the shadowy realm of the underworld to search for the ancient powers of transmutation. Hundreds of years passed until this vile creature was vomited out from those hellish pits, a being with a soul even more loathsome than her appearance. The Sea Hag, or “Ginny Greenteeth” as the pirates of the Fortune Hunters have called her, is a witch of terrible power with an appetite for human flesh. She no longer has the scaly beauty of the Nereids but her lust for magical power makes the Sea Hag share their common goal of protecting Xibalba from invaders. She is aided by her minions, devious Sea Goblins and brutish Sea Trolls."

Glad he gave us the troll as a bonus. I think it was super close from the last campaign. Really hoping we get to the dark mariner "sub", or they do another project a few months later. I've always got the impression that is their better selling faction, so I cant imagine they wouldnt get it out sooner or later.

The Update in question:

Update #3

Jun 22 2017

Sea Troll unlocked

A popular stretch goal from the previous Blood Reef project, the mighty Sea Troll, was added at $9000 as a special bonus. These monstrous creations of the Sea Hag are the hunters of the Sea Goblin tribe, able to take down huge marine and land prey with their harpoons. They may be commanded by a Deep Caller only.

The Sea Troll has just been unlocked and can be added to pledges now.

Oooh Crap! Sea Troll is in??!!

So am I!

I want the mariners and scaley Horde subs more than anything.

I wish they did more biomechs and Celephoids for the Dark Mariners, as I like them much more than the more human proportioned characters.

Still, Fortune hunters need a Big Ol' Bear in a diving suit.

Fortune Hunters definitely need some more mechs at least. Way too many humans in the faction!

I'm certainly happy to see the little helper mech.

The diving bear is probably a crazy enough idea that if I had something like that I'd actually play Fortune Hunters!

The biggest base they use (prior to these new subs at least) is 50mm, so that would be my guess, they look the same as the PP ones.

I'm curious which will be the 3rd sub, the Dark Mariners, or the Sea dragon. Both are cool, but I recall Antimatter saying DM are the most popular army, so I could see making that one last. If we don't end up funding the scaly horde, or DM subs, I'm thinking I'll use that fortune hunters one to finally convert a Death Guard tank with a dome canopy window. I've always wanted a nurgle tank with one, and this looks to be the perfect style.

I like that one of the new fortune hunters has on a diving suit, with an overcoat on. A deep sea bear is a natural progression.

Dark Mariners are popular for a reason. Their figures are damn cool. Here's hoping the next sub is theirs.

I've wanted to jump into Deep Wars forever. Now is the time. I pledged. It's refreshing to have a versatile KS that lets you exchange items for points and simply select other models.

Hope this keep progressing. I am going to go to a local pet store when it arrives and get terrain out of their aquarium section.

Traveling for work, a few missed updates, so here we go!

Update #4

Jun 23 2017

Ginny unlocked

We have reached enough to unlock another stretch goal, Ginny Greenteeth. She can be added for $10 or 1 point.

"Once the most fair of the Nereids, Galateia was lured to the shadowy realm of the underworld to search for the ancient powers of transmutation. Hundreds of years passed until this vile creature was vomited out from those hellish pits, a being with a soul even more loathsome than her appearance. Update #5

Stretch Goal update - lots of new goals

Hi all,

We have been navigating the doldrums of the middle of the campaign and gearing up for the final stretch run. it felt like a good time to put the full line of submersibles in as stretch goals as well as a bunch of new items. I'm trying to make the goals moderately spaced so they can be unlocked quickly, so hopefully this will help people join in. We have added bonus goals of extra points for higher pledge levels also.

I...want it all!

The Sea Goblins have definitely grown on me - especially the ones previewed in this campaign now...

I'm in the same boat- pun most likely intended.

I have to say the incentives to back at a higher level with the Antimatter campaigns is really worth it too.

Can't say I've been disappointed with a single figure I've received yet either.

I really hope we reach that Sea Dragon! Of course, hitting those goblin goals would be sweet as well.

May need to up my pledge for this yet again when the time draws to an end!

Update #6

3D Model of Sub

Hi all,

Here is a viewable preview of the 3D model for the Argonaut submarine so you can get a better look at it. You can rotate the model with the mouse and use the mouse wheel button to zoom in and out.

Also, the next stretch goal was unlocked even though we crossed $11500 and then went back a bit. We'll cross it again shortly and then move onto the next goal.

Big size and dollar difference between these subs, wish I knew how they function in game. Is it like one vs many, or does sub play mean completely different gameplay? They already have my hundred bux, just curious.

Not sure what you're talking about, being different size and price points. All of the subs should be about the same size and they're all the same price. $80 or 10 points. Or are you referring to the Hunter-Killer Biomech? That's not a sub. That thing's a regular unit. More or less equivalent to a Warjack from Warmachine.

Submersibles have full stats and points values, so they would function in-game just like any other unit. It wouldn't be any different than fielding a vehicle in any other game. I'm sure you could play it in a 1-vs-many setup, but Deepwars and Shadow Sea all use point values to determine how many units a player can use and what types of units. For example, the Argonaut itself has a point cost of 204. So, if you're playing a 500 point game, you have room to bring more troops, which you actually need to do, because to field a sub, you have to select two crew members from among your warband to pilot it. The argonaut can also transport up to 8 figures, not including the crew, so I'd imagine you would want to run it in a larger game.

That Hunter-Killer btw, that thing costs 153 points to run. You could chew through most of your unit points just running a couple of those things!

The submarine is really quite something. Good to see that antimatter are exploring lots of different aspects of Shadowsea and Deepwars rather than just (no pun intended) touching the surface.

Update time!

Update #7

Jul 5 2017

We reached $12000 and unlocked free stuff!

Hi loyal backers,

We have reached the $12000 level for pledges and have just unlocked the bonus points for free miniatures or other items for backers pledging over $100. Higher pledges gain extra bonus points.

We are really close to unlocking the next submersible at $14000, the Sea Wraith, used by the Ancients of Atalán. The Sea Wraiths are designed with a shallow draft so they can pass over the jagged corals within reef zones and transport up to six troops. They are lightly armored but are equipped with powerful weapons that can fire at longer ranges than submersibles of competing forces.

3 days to go!

Can we get at least 18 more bakers and about $3K more?

I hope so!

The Final Push is here!

LET'S GO EVERYONE!!!

Update #8

Jul 6 2017
Final Push

Hi all,

We are nearing the end of the project and have just unlocked one more stretch goal, Prince Corym ShadowShifter for the Dark Mariners. Corym is a pureblood noble who is able to shift time and space and travel to different locations in the blink of an eye. He is consumed by greed for ethereal treasures, an effect of his implanted biotechnology and extensive time in the ethereal void.

The next stretch goal is a big one, the Sea Wraith. We need everyone to tell a friend or two, spread the word to help back this project so we can reach this next goal.
