Before I dive into the experience itself, it's important to recap what I was using and what the opponents were using to offer fair assessment. Game 1, 2k points, I was running (for both games) Imotek, Orikan, C'Tan deceiver, Warrior x32 (20 and 12), x2 Immortal squad 5m, 3x heavy destroyers 2 squads of deathmarks x5, and an obelisk. Game 1 was Ultramarine, 3 drop pods with sternguard, Guilliman, Captain, 3 scout squads. Game 2 was Ultramarines with Guilliman, LR /w 5m Centuran squad (4 grav, 1 lascannon, missiles), 3 scout squads, Chronos, Tigerius, Captain.

Game 1 I was able to table the first guy by top of turn 3. H eopenly stated that he cannot believe that all gauss weapons are a minimum of -1. Second game was a loss but highly entertaining. I used Grand Illusion and relocated my 20m warrior squad, imotek, Orikan, and the C'Tan to their deployment area (this was a go big or go home kind of move which we both were laughing about while it happened). It did not go well, and he wiped out all of the listed moved units turn 1. After that I assumed it would have been basic cleanup for him to end it quickly, but I wanted to play it out. 4 turns later, he finally kills my last heavy destroyer after I have downed all his ground troops, killed Gilliman, and took the LR down to 2 wounds on turn 5.

From what I experienced from my list, Necrons are hard to kill! I love the changes made to RA. It took away how strong it was in reference to the save but made it annoyingly strong when it comes to how it can persist through turns. Also, I enjoyed the D3 heal to Imotek which reset him to full wounds after the snipers had a go at him. Shooting with the tesla weapons from the Obelisk took me to 7 out of 8 shooting rounds with more wounds being rolled than origional shots being fired. The auto heal from Living Metal is great, and my only complaint (if this is even a complaint, more of a wish) is that it would be great if the Obelisk had quantum shielding, but that would honestly be down right stupid. Anyone else have any personal experiences this weekend with Necrons? I am curious if my games were outliers or the norm.
