To say the least - these are a tad bit overblown. I find it silly that my captain in terminator armor who just bounced several direct hits from las cannons while at 1 wound gets saves but just being in the proximity of a vehicle that is exploding - he automatically dies - d3 mortal wounds - no saves -he is dead. The guys inside the vehical however are immune to the auto d3 mortal wounds and instead loss models outright on a roll of a 1 - for each model - this is also extreme but they are INSIDE an exploding vehical - it should be extreme - and it's still less extreme then d3 auto mortal wounds to anything in explosion range because as long as you have chaff units inside you'll never loss anything important. Whats more silly is the chain reactions this can cause (especially if soul-burst is involved) lol.
What do you guys think?

I think the shrapnel and huge pieces of ceramite/xenos equivilent material flying at you at sonic speeds is enough pierce basically any armour. Or if the tank itself flipped over and just crushed that terminator.
I think it works. Explosions in 7th were so boring, you could almost skip the whole process, with how low impact they made. Now you have to think about how you move your models in relation to vehicles, since they can cause some serious damage when they blow up in your face.

The last game I played of 7th a vehicle explosion killed 4 deathwatch marines, one with the grenade launcher, so I thought it was pretty cool.

Then comes along the frakking Spinosaurus who kills the T-rex, and the movie says "LOVE THIS NOW! HE IS BETTER" But...in your heart, you love the T-rex, who shouldn't have lost to no stupid Spinosaurus. So you hate the movie. And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

Vehicle explosions are more dangerous to expensive models than in the previous edition, where they were very dangerous to cheaper models because of their usually poor saves. One of the many things that have switched around now. It amuses me that some people think vehicle explosions didn't impact the game much before now, I've practically had to shovel my Orks off the board in some games after my vehicle phalanxes took a hard turn of firepower! It's not always easy to keep your stuff away from each other and I'll be glad to see people being as wary of explosions as I am.

Eh, the vehicles rarely explode...and if they do, they rarely do more than 1 mortal wound to a "unit". I don't think this is very overblown and yet still allows for just enough silliness (i.e. your terminator captain had a turret fly off a vehicle and land on him...or was cut in half by a huge link of track which flew off at super-sonic speed).
I think that psykers periling and dying from warp fluxes is even more dangerous.

True - it could represent the tank flying into the air and landing on my captain - which would be deadly - but I think he should at least get an opportunity to dodge such events. Like each unit takes d3 str 10 - 4 ap hits with 1 damage. I think that would be sufficiently deadly - ignoring the targets toughness and save characteristics is just too much IMO for an accidental explosion or magazine detonation.

Have you seen what an accidental magazine detonation can do to a tank or, heaven forbid, battleship? Imagine standing on the deck of HMS Hood when it went nuclear fighting Bismarck - that's what it's like for your captain standing on top of my Baneblade when its reactor cracks.

Doombolt was particularly fun in those rare games where it worked. There was a certain joy in watching light vehicles go thermonuclear and take out a fair bit of bubblewrap.
