Nope, Stormraven's or bust for now...

Even though in every other BL book there is a Dreadnaught in a Drop Pod...

Something tells me you'll see a new Primaris-based drop pod...which conveniently will also be allowed to take normal dreadnoughts (i.e. they'll see twice as many of the "new" pods).

Lucius Pattern Drop Pods are there in plain sight in the Battlefield Support section.

Yes, they are in the forgeworld index under Battlefield Support.

'Straya... Mate.

I honestly don't see much benefit for Dreadnoughts to ride in drop pods anymore, I know that is beside the point though.

looks like dreads now require a special drop pod, which is fair eneugh, I know I'd be perfectly content with people using normal drop pods as a stand in,

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Melee dreads/ironclads don't really want to hike up the field.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

they do have the duability to manage it, but their low speed kinda sucks.

For a melee dread to be useful on average he needs a transport. So you're already paying a premium cost for the Dread (don't understand why melee dreads are so expensive) then the super jacked cost for FW droppods or a stormraven.

Conclusion: don't use melee dreads, shooty dreads are WAY more efficient and cost effective, don't require a transport or any optimal situation to contribute like a CC dread.
