In my first two games of eighth I found that my guardians threat range is too short to deal with shooty armies like necrons running ghost ark and warriors. At 500 pts I lost one unit of 11 in cover before my first turn and then my lord and blades were too far away to move and charge so for 3 more turns it was try and bright Lance a ghost ark down which failed and I couldn't charge the tombblades till they reached rapid fire range. How do I offset my short threat range with guardians and wraith without getting gunned down by other factions long range infantry.

PEACE is a lie, there is only Passion,

through power, I gain VICTORY through. victory, MY CHAINS are BROKEN.

Yeah, Guardians are pretty bad on foot because they don't have any range. And they're relatively expensive for light infantry so it's really bad for you if they start getting shot before they get to fire. I think the index basically forces you to take Wave Serpents for them.

You can stick a Warlock near them to cast Conceal, which will help a bit, and then you can Advance up the field pretty quickly, but you're pretty much always going to start taking heavy losses at 24".
