Anyone else notice how ineffective the power fist Roboute has would be in actual combat? His bolter would prevent him from grabbing anything too big to fit solely in his palm.

Just thought it was interesting.

Have a good day!

Ol' Big McLargehuge doesn't care for your PETTY PHYSICS. He is an ULTRAMARINE who marches for MACRAGGE and he know no defeat!

Srsly though, only the Imperium of man could design a grabby-fist that can't grabby-fist.

He's got the sword of the emperor in his other hand. There's nothing in the universe that he'd want now... or it's on a track to bring it forward to fire and then retracts... or someone didn't think this one through.

Good point

Yeah - in reality it wouldn't make any sense to attach anything to a power gauntlet/fist - it would be likely to break off using the weapon.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

Same way the Contemptor dreadnought has fingers which can't really touch each other...and has a stormbolter in the palm, which would have its barrels damaged/bent/jammed by holding anything?

Yeah...

These are guns mounted on the outside of walking tanks, they're most likely just as sturdy and armored as the fists themselves, and also covered in the power field. In the case of Big Rob he probably uses his powerfist more like swordsmen used parrying daggers, to deflect and knock back attacks and for openings in the enemy defense. And also to rip off armor plates so he can fill enemy tanks with his voltron sword.

ftfy.

Let's all bear in mind that each bolter probably weighs more than a person. Legit metal clubs in their own right.

and that Space Marines can be killed by smacking them with a stick

No... Not an Electric Hi Tech Power Stick
No... Not a Stick that has been blessed/cursed by the Gods of Ultimate Good/Evil

Just a regular ol' stick
