Hello all,

Been looking at the Ork's Flyer and the 8th ed rules for the Wazbom Blastajet seem pretty promising. Has anyone had a chance to use it in 8th ed that can tell me if it'd be worth picking up or not?

I run somewhat of a mechanized unit of Orks, comprised of a Battlewagon, two Trukks, a squadron of Deffkoptas, plus all the Boyz in the vehicles and the Lootas hanging back mowing stuff down.

Thanks!

It's still priced as if it was bs3+.

TBH;

I don't think it's worth it - the dakkajet outputs far more dakka for the price. That said, it DOES have a place in an air heavy list, as a mobile, durable KFF for the group.

As far as it's damage output however - the Wazbom Mega Kannons might be 2d3 attacks; but the 5+ to hit kills them. They won't hit anything, ever.

The Smasha gun is the real value of the Wazbom Blastajet- hitting on 4+, good odds to wound (not so great against t8 vehicles though), d6 damage and a -4 ap - it's set to kill heavy infantry like no ones business.

That said, invulnerable saves still > the Wazbom's guns. And if you're taking it for just a Smasha gun, you'd probably be better off with a Mek gunz unit instead - more gunz for the price of a single jet.

I'd take it for the mobile KFF in an air army, but in a normal list I'd rather have a dakkajet - even over many of the other flyers as well.
