Subject: 8th edition Nidzilla army?

So i've always wanted to play Tyranids but in the last few editions the play style didn't really interest me (I have orks so I don;t want another swarm army). So I'm thinking in 8th edition I might look into a Nidzilla but what would you guys suggest? (Looking for a 1000 to 1800pts army).

Carnifexes. Lots of basic Carnfiexes armed with scything talons.
However a lot of the MCs got buffed this edition so there's really no wrong choice anymore (unlike before where units like the Haruspex or the Maleceptor struggled to do their intended job, let alone anything else).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do. |

Take 1-2 Barbed Heirodules in Super-Heavy Auxiliary detachments and (works out to about 850 points) and then a Spearhead detachment with 1-2 Hive Tyrants for synapse and a bunch of Carnifexen.
Alternatively the Heirophant is 1800 points, so at the upper end of your point scale just take one of those and nothing else

I either go this or Genestealer Cult (I like them because they are kinda both imperial guards and tyranids.

I was looking at the same thing. I think this edition is going to really allow for Nidzilla again. I don't have, nor do I have any intention of buying, any FW models, so I am looking at Carnifexes with a Hive Tyrant and a Trygon tunneling in with 'Stealers. I really don't think there are a lot of bad options anymore, unlike in the past.
