I hate the GW Fiends of Slaanesh models and they are costly, so I need a way to convert them, now I am not that much of a converter mostly kitbash and that's it.

I have had a look online and I have seen anything from converted Raveners, Goblin Spiders, Steeds of Slaanesh, even ones made out of bloodletter and daemonette parts.

The problem I have with these is the Ravener conversions look a bit out of proportion, the goblin spiders are too small, the Steed of slaanesh would make them very similar to my Seekers and I am again unsure about the look of them?

Do you guys have any suggestions for simple conversions?

I did think of using this image for inspiration but I would need suitable lower torse, legs etc.

Augusta GA

The dark elf model line has plenty of evil looking horses and lizards you could use for the bottom half of a fiend.

The problem with the dark elf dark rider horses is that the darkn elf legs are already molded on, The cold ones have saddle and I really want quadruped legs.

Chariot horses could work but the problem is getting hold of them with buying alot of chariots.

For a 2 legged fiend a saurus cold ones are another option.

That is certainly an option I have looked at, the stirrups are a bit of a pig deal with according to a guy who used them to convert centigors.

Maybe chaos Warhounds with the Daemonettes being puttied to the neck stump. Since the Warhounds have a huge mane it should be easy to sculpt some fur to hide the joint.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Reaper bones hellhounds might work in a similar style, though with a good bit more cutting and filling. I think reapers spiders are a bit larger, and they do have some driders too. If you want the horses, warlord sells at least two kinds by the sprue.

The issue with Fiends is something I've looked at over the editions. For me it was because I didn't quite like the look of the current model.

As far as conversion work goes, you will likely spend the equivalent in $ to create 1 Fiend as it is to buy one. If cost is an issue then the cheapest way I can suggest is:

Box of plastic demonettes and box of milliput 2 part epoxy putty. Cut the demonette in half and create a lower snake half body with the milliput. You can be as detailed as you wish.

If cost isn't so much an issue, you have several options:

1. Demonette torso + High Elf Lion. The armor plates don't look like saddles so you can leave them in imho.
2. Demonette torso + Dark Elf Cold One. Requires saddle removal.
3. Demonette torso + Dark Rider Steed. Same issue as above.
4. Demonette torso + Wood Elf Stag. Same issue as above.

Perhaps mixing deamonettes with dragon ogres?
