I am really enjoying 8th edition and thought it would be fun to come up with some way to use some sweet 3rd party mechanicus models with my Slaanesh Daemons army. After scouring the wikis and such, I have enough lore to make a backstory as to why the dark mechanicus dominus is embracing Slaanesh, but not sure how to bring it to the tabletop. Should I be running a warpsmith as my dominus and then take some mechanicus troops? Replacing the imperial keywork with chaos? This will not really work in tournaments, but my local gamestore is usually pretty accepting of most things. Just wondering what others might think.

Also, the slaanesh dominus is pretty sweet, from wargame exclusive. Same with the eradicator squad. All as pinup versions, of course.

Edit:
Also, if anyone has any suggestions for additional pinup versions of models that would fit in with the mechanicus and slaanesh theme, feel free to share!

As you said, it will entirely depend on your gaming scene.
I personally would love to play against any fluffy army like that. But if the guy seems to use the fluff just as an excuse to field broken combos, I would be pretty upset.

It is really just an excuse to get some more sexy models on the table that match my slaanesh army. My only rule is there need to be boobies with at least one exposed, similar to the older daemonette models. Once I get some more models to add to the mechanicus side, like fulgurites (male models still fit the criteria!) I would have enough to run a solo mechanicus list. Until then, I need to supplement with what I have.

There are actual rules in the FW IA: Chaos for a Hellwright character who comes with the Dark Mechanicus keyword. He's a Warpsmith++ and synergizes well with the Hellforged vehicles out of the same book. He can buff daemon engines in daemon lists and [legion] vehicles in CSM lists so can cover all your needs. And you can mark them to Slaanesh too.

Outside tournaments you should be really unlucky to find someone who won't let you go Dark Mec as long as you've put the effort in to making the models look the part.

A few simple conversions should cover you.

Though reading the fluff in the new BRB the Dark Mec are on the move and going after the Imperial Mec so we might actually see them in the future (fingers cross - and I'm an Imperial player).

If you want to avoid problems though, probably go for the Spearhead formation and max out on Daemon engines, Helbrutes and Warpsmiths for now. Maybe cultist as the cannon fodder slaves to round things off.

A renegade knight would be an obvious choice, and has a ton of scope for conversion.
