I have a rules question respecting cover and non infantry models. You get a cover save if 50% of the model is covered by intervening terrain only. All measurements are from base to base unless model does not have a base or a special rule like wave serpents which measure from hull. When drawing line of site to determine if a model has 50% coverage does the shooter measure from its base if it has one?

You don't measure vision, you measure distance from base to base. LoS is from any part of the model

Is this question referencing 7th Edition? Because these aren't 8th Ed. rules.

Yeah, was gonna say... cover save 50% is largely gone. Only if you play advanced terrain rules and have a vehicle in Terrain n and 50% covered. The general 50% obscured = save is gone. Seems odd when you first play, but let it go and it works fine as vehicles/monsters have bags of wounds.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"
