I was wondering if the only piece that matters to convert a warwalker to a wasp is the jump pack bit?

The Wasp is also more enclosed but just looking to see if there is a simple way to make the change...

No madam, 40,000 is the year that this game is set in. Not how much it costs. Though you may have a point. - GW Fulchester

The jets are really the only major thing that defines the Wasp, aside from the canopy cover. The weapon mounts are very fiddly, and not worth using in my experience as they have a number of thin spots where the resin can snap on you.

The main jets slide over the flat-ish spots on the back of the carapace, there's the antennae that sit forward on the frame, the weapon mounts and the canopy cover. There's the two smaller jets that sit on the hip joint, and the tail fin.

The core visual pieces are the canopy, the main jets and the tail fin, they are what REALLY stand out when you put a Wasp beside a War Walker.

Hope that helps.

EDIT - there's also that stinger-like rod that comes back off the hips. Technically, the wasp also comes with its own legs that are slightly more poseable, and the hips have a post socket for a flying stand as well. I would offer a comparison side by side, but I haven't got a clue where either my Wasps or my Walkers are.
