Automated Rubric Marine of Tzeentch

4 5 man units of Rubrics w/2 flamers and Hand Flamer
2 5 man units of SOT with Soul Reaper Cannon
2 10 man units of Tzzangors
2 Rhinos
2 Exalted Sorcerers on Disks
Ahriman on Disk
Daemon Prince with Warp Bolter

2000 points

The idea is to swap between using the Rhinos to move the most important units up. Against shooty armies I will put the Tzzangors in the Rhinos to get them close for the turn 2 charge. Melee armies I will put the Rubrics in the Rhinos to prevent the Rubrics from getting charged, and use the Tzzangors to prevent the Rhinos from being surrounded and losing whole units. SOT Can be used to reinforce flanks or be used to punch holes in the enemy line to allow Tzzangors to move in for Charcter Kills.

The DP is my quick response to deep striking units. With him smiting and the warp bolter and getting 7 attacks He can take down a 5 man squad of Terminators in 1 turn.

The weak points of this army are the Rhinos, and Enemy Armor. I really need those Rhinos to stay alive for at least a turn or two. Enemy armor is dealt with by the Exalted Sorcerers zipping over the enemy line and tying them up in combat to prevent shooting. Giving the rest of my army a turn or to to punch holes in the enemy line so I can get some smites on the damn things and kill them.

How many models are in the infantry units? And what kind of detachment(s) are you going for, if any? You have 4 HQ so it doesn't fit into a battalion, but the list doesn't meet the minimum requirements for a brigade.

You will struggle immensely against 36" range and mechanized lists. Their mechanization can be anything from flyer spam to 8 transports but if you can't pop key targets in 1 to 2 turns it won't go well.

Could fit the list into a battalion and a patrol.
Or squeeze in a other hq (The 30pt renegade sorceror is easiest) and you could have a command detachment.

5 man for everything except Tzzangors. 2 Batallions, tzzangors and Rubrics are troops.

Heavy smite lets me pop transports fast. 16 mortal wounds per turn on top of shooting should net me 3 kill first turn at least

Unless he screens his transports, then your stuck wasting those mortal wounds on crappy units, while he is pounding you with his big guns.

You can't focus fire smites and they are only 18". Transports will reach you and back line artillery will rain fire on you unless/until you commit scarab terminator squads to tying them up. Also has anyone mentioned that you can't take a soul reaper cannon in 5 man rubric squad? Requires 10 rubrics to take one cannon.

They will not leave the transports in the back and he can't disembark same turn so on turn one he will be stuck.

I'll be angling to go second not first. Any transports he has he'll move up then my turn I move up and blow up transports with smites and roast their contents.

Those are not rubric squads those are Scarab occult terminators.

You're right about the SoT's, my bad.

You simply will not be able to reliably focus all of your smiting that way, not to mention this would require your SoT smites as well. I'm not out to get you or anything, but speak from experience that any decent list will have more than enough wounds to weather the shooting of rubrics and some smiting. Elite lists will fall before you, but vehicle spam, TAC and horde overcome Thousand Sons damage output easily.
