I tried to write up a fairly comprehensive article on Bullgryns for 8th edition.

Check it out here http://cadianshock.com/bullgryn-tactics/

Did I miss anything?

Have you played Bullgryns yet in 8th? How did they do?

Looks good! 2 things to note though...

Psychic barrier will effect them, it'll give them a 1+ save and while a 1 is still always a fail if they get hit by a AP-1 attack they're save will still be a 2+. if they're in cover as well and they get hit by a AP-2 attack they'll again still have their 2+ (+1 for psychic barrier, +1 for cover).

Also units can move normally after disembarking! So less than 20" valkyrie move, 3" disembark (staying 9" away though for grav insertion), 6" normal move, then 3" charge

Seems good enough, but I'm curious where you saw yarrick still gives orders? unless I m mistaken he doesn't do that anymore.

I'm planning to stick 11 in a Crassus and run it at the enemy. Still need another 5 Bullgryns though.

What would be good sticking in with them? I'm thinking a Priest for +1 attacks.

Thanks, updated the article. 3 different people have brought this up!

My mistake, removed. Thanks.

This I like! Is the Crassus in the new AM FW book? The Priest seems limited because its only going to be 11 more attacks. Its not as nice as using a Priest with Conscripts for doubling your attacks. Maybe use Yarrick for re-rolling ones to hit in shooting and melee?

Great article! I have tried out all 3 types of Ogryn in 8th so far. I gotta say, they are a ton of fun to play and have done very well. I think they're probably still a bit over costed for their capabilities. I had 5 regular Ogryn charge some Kroot and straight murdered them. I didn't realize how many attacks all Ogryn have. Now that we can mix and match shields and weapons, I'll have to buy some more and put mauls on slabshields. I had 3 with mauls lay into some crisis suits and it was a slaughter!
