Next week our store learning league moves up to 1000 points. Since I haven't been playing long, and this edition is new, am looking for some thoughts on what I've worked out so far for my list.

Most opponents are space marines, tyranids and orks.

Thoughts?

Current models I have are:

2 walking hive tyrants with venom cannon and talons
2 carnifexes with claws and talons
1 broodlord
1 lictor
1 zoanthrope
3 biovores
12+ spore mines
12 warriors mostly with a gun and talons
3 hive guard
3 tyrant guard
20-30 genestealers
100+ hormagaunts
100+ termagants

Looks pretty nice! When you move up to the next point level, I think you'll find a Trygon real useful, you might also try adding in a Tervigon with Termagants for a backfield "Gunline".

ALWAYS find room to put in a lictor. Those little bastards have always killed support units like devastators / dark reapers and always earn their points. I would always take a lictor or two if I was a tyranid player.

i would play deathleaper then, he can charge 1st turn something anytime, dont expect he makes a mess but he's very annoying, btw... i found needed some gunfire, the only unit i found useful is hive guard, suggest to find some room for at least 3 of them, then i would raise genoraptors count, another 20 model unit cant hurt. If you really want play an hive tyrant on feet use swarmlord he is a great force multiplier.

I do like the lictor.. Deathleaper has to choose a target opponent, right? I'd probably stick with the basic one.

Will have to wait til the league size goes up (the following week is 2000) before I can add anything without removing anything.

The big issue with Deathleaper due to how he deploys, it is quite easy to counter him so he never makes it onto the battlefield

Lictors are the safer bet
