Some of us are still not sure whether the Alpha Legion is completely fallen or trying to defeat Chaos from the inside, but either way here are a few Legionnaires I got to paint as part of a larger mixed force of chaos.
Alpha Legion colors are always a bit tricky because they're so dark (the green nighlighting isn't very light, and even then you need to make sure not to use so much that the whole minis look green).

Greetings odinsgrandson, Your Alpha Legion model miniatures look great!
This is the first I have seen mention of the thought that the Alpha Legion is using it's unbreakable chain of command to fight & destroy chaos & restore order.
I collected & painted the majority of My Marine models as either Dark Angels, the first Legion & Alpha Legion, the twentieth & last Legion.
I heard fluff but have not confirmed that the Alpha Legion had Twin Brother Primarchs leading the Legion. They would stand in the Legion as rank & file soldiers & pop out when required.

The whole Alpha legion fighting chaos from the inside thing is in the book "Legion", it's kind of the major plot line to it.
There are also definitely two primarchs, although it is only known to the Emperor and the Alpha legion; they frequently trade places.

There's a lot of odd fluff on the Alpha Legion (not the least of which is that there are two primarchs might be at odds with one another).
There are some suggestions that the Alpha Legion doesn't enter the eye of terror, but stays on the edges, and that they are playing a long game trying to take out Chaos for good by pretending to be traitors to humanity.
It is also possible that with the death of Alpharius and/or Omeggon, the scheme was lost, and the remaining Legionnaires are now completely devoted to Chaos. But maybe not- right?

I recall reading briefly about how an Alpha Legion Commander was slain, instead of demoralizing the Legionnaires they continued on fighting harder. Maybe the Twin-Primarchs instilled in the Rank & File Legionnaires the Grand Scheme. If the Alpha Legion is working to take out Chaos by what means necessary, infiltrate, disrupt, tricks like painting vehicles in the wrong colors & wearing armor that deceives the enemy into briefly thinking reinforcements are allies have arrived only to destroy the enemy. I do not think the Alpha Legion is a group of good guys, but I like that they are taking on Chaos head on.

The beauty of the Alpha Legion is that you never know what is real and what is propaganda the Legion wants you to believe. Are there really two Primarchs? Did one die, or did both, or did neither? It depends on which account you believe, and therein lies the rub - can you believe any of them?
It really opens up the possibilities. You don't need to RetCon anything when the fluff is all about subterfuge.
