Hi! Which army is better between Chaos Demons and Tyranids? I don't know what to choose

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

What do you mean about 'better'? Which is the more competitive army? Which has the better fluff? Which has the better models? Which is the better for building/painting/converting?

Competitive: too early to tell, the Dakka game results thread shows Daemons doing better but the games recorded on that thread have perhaps dubius results.

Fluff: depends on your personal preference, do you like the idea of the unending Tyranid hordes that will keep coming no matter what you do or the Daemon hordes who you may defeat but will always be there on the edge of reality ready to tear your soul from your body.

Models: again personal preference though i would say that Daemons have more variety should you get bored of the exo-skeleton-bug look.

Building/Painting/Converting: once again personal preference but I personally believe all Chaos models offer a better opportunity for that kind of thing.

Competitively, as I said, it's too early to tell. What type of army are you hoping to run? A horde army, big monsters, psychic shenanigans, etc.?

It's hard to say for certain but probably tyranids. Not just because they've been doing well so far, but they can also ally with imperial guard via genestealers. All it takes is a patrol detachment of genestealer cult (which could be a unit of purestrain genestealers+a patriarch or other HQ) and you can comfortable mix in astra militarum units freely, as the AM keywords are ignored for army composition.

Given that tyranids and AM are two of the best performing armies currently, I can't help but think mixing the two will lead to excellent results. Manticores backing up carnifexes would be hilarious as well.

Currently, I'd say Both are quite good. So which one do you enjoy painting the most?

Thats how I chose Nids.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
P.S. Oh, for Tourney? Right now...Nids, but Chaos should be getting some new stuff this year (and next) so Chaos may pull even, or pass.

Really hit the nail on the head with this. In my opinion chaos offers the most painting and conversion variety of any force in the game or at least on par with orks. Chaos can always be converted to have more mutations and the 4 gods offer ver different paint colors and models.
