I am testing the waters with 8th edition. I have not played in about two years. 8th edition looks good so far. My armies are Chaos, AM, and Eldar.

Since I was recently married I now have a default opponent. She likes Noise Marines because they are pink so I might have an army for her.

Either way, I would like to begin with 750 points matched play Patrol Detachment. To keep it simple I have proposed additional rules of only infantry, no heavies, and no fliers. I have a massive AM army and decent sized Eldar army with almost all of the infantry models. I prefer infantry models because I really like the skirmish feel. I would like to hear some advise for list building since I am very rusty and there is a complete new edition now.

I can't help with Astra Militarum but I'm pretty familiar with Chaos so I can build a list for your wife:

-Noise Marines (4x Sonic Blaster, 1x Blastmaster) - 124pts
-Noise Marines (4x Sonic Blaster, 1x Blastmaster) - 124pts
-Chosen (4x Plasma Gun, 1x Boltgun) - 132pts
-Raptors (2x Plasma Pistol, 3x Bolt Pistol, 5x Chainsword) - 99pts
-Raptors (2x Plasma Pistol, 3x Bolt Pistol, 5x Chainsword) - 99pts

That's a 745 point Emperor's Children army focused on shooting. One Chaos Lord sticks with the Noise Marines and Chosen, while the jump pack chaos lord deep strikes in with the raptors. I kept the equipment fairly simple for ease of play but it could probably be fine tuned further.

Thanks for the feed back. That seems like a pretty good list. I think I will add in dedicated transports as well. This list is also fairly forgiving since they are all CM. I have most of the models already. I will download the this from Warhammer Digital and see what I can do. Thanks...

All the models are painted. After building a list the next step is build cheap terrain. But that is for another post.

If anyone has any ideas for Eldar, or whatever their new name is now, I would like to hear it.
