A simple question here, in your opinion what is the best Leman Russ set up for Pask in 8th edition (variant and hull/sponson load out)?

I'm going to be building an almost all-tank guard army.

Thanks

I'm not speaking from experience, but I hear punisher with triple heavy bolters is ideal.

I know a guy won a tournament with a classic battle cannon/lascannon/hb sponson Pask.

And I'm personally curious how well an executioner with plasma sponsons would work.

I know that in 7th Pask had rend, so maximising shots with heavy bolters was good. However now that he hits on 2+ I wondered if taking advantage and taking multi meltas.

Yeah I'm thinking Demo with Multi-Meltas may be the best loadout.

Not taking a lascannon on Pask is an absolute waste IMO. There aren't any other BS 2+ choices that can take one after all and everything else has to pay the same amount of points for the gun.

Dark it was, and dire of form
the beast that laid them low
Hrothgar's sharpened frost-forged blade
to deal a fatal blow
he stalked and hunted day and night
and came upon it's lair
With sword and shield Hrothgar fought
and earned the name of slayer

So maybe a Punisher with lascannon in the hull and multi meltas on the sponsons?

8th edition - pask in punisher with lascannon and multimeltas = yes. other tanks in his squadron to take is another question.... maybe with two exterminators as the second tanks. These complement each other, and the punisher gets the most use out of being the commander. They can hurt similar targets but you can split fire if needed and have the tank commander target infantry and the exterminators go after light vehicles.

all other tanks in your army you might be best of running LRBT with lascannons and bolters or just naked

TBH i dont like how the killed ordnance, in the past it was easy to get 8+ models under one template not limited to a 1/6 chance of getting 6....weak

I prefer Pask in a Punisher with sponson heavy bolters and a lascannon in the hull. I also tried him with a Plasma Executioner with plasma cannon sponsons and hull lascannon. It was good but less killy than the Punisher. I also like keeping an astropath nearby to improve Pask's save and sometimes I put a techpriest nearby to repair him. He is my Warlord so I give him the trait that lets him ignore a wound on a die roll of '6'.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.
