Hi all, my wife wishes to use the models she has for 8th Ed that she had planned to use for WFB back then when it was a thing. So she's going for a 1500 pts list with the models she owns, only thing she doesn't have now are the Thousand Sons. She'd like to play a mix of maybe 60/40 Khorne and Tzeentch in the long term, using the Khorne Daemons for the CC and the Tzeentch/Chaos units for long range support, to fill the gaps of a pure Khorne army. So for now she's thinking about including a unit of Rubric Marines to have a decent and resilient shooting unit, and because the models are awesome. She won't be playing tournaments or anything but we're aiming at a solid and non-cheesy list to play at our LGS. Here's her first draft list:

Batallion Detachment (Total 6CP)

HQ:
- Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirster, 340
- 2 Heralds of Khorne, 112

Troops:
- 13 Bloodletters with Banner and Musician, 152
- 13 Bloodletters with Banner and Musician, 152
- 9 Rubric Marines with Inferno Bolters, 180
- 1 Aspiring Sorcerer with Inferno Bolt Pistol and Staff, 31

Fast Attack:
- 5 Flesh Hounds, 100

Elites:
- 3 Bloodcrushers, 141

Heavy Support:
- 2 Skullcannons, 294

Thoughts on this ? She hasn't played her army in 8th yet so we've yet to see how Daemons work on the table. The Bloodthirster looks impressive enough, the Skullcannons are decent anti-tank, the real problem seems to be the footslogging Bloodletters, would it be wiser to summon them on the field to have them be closer ?

Thanks in advance !

This is pretty common for me to say, but Magnus does the job of a bloodthirster so much better (better melee, better durability and faster), whilst buffing the rest of your army - for only 75 pts more. He would also fit the tzeentch theme nicely. If you could find the points for him (maybe by dropping the flesh hounds - which took a nerf from 7th, especially with the loss of the gorepack and a price bump), you'd have a much better force multiplier.

Bloodletters are pretty poor now that they've lost any form of deep strike or alpha strike capacity, but I'd still much rather take them initially than have to rely on the stupid summoning system. Honestly, you'd be better off taking khorne berserkers in a rhino.

I think you must mean that this is a battalion detachment, as it's a long way off of the requirements for a brigade.

Thanks for the suggestions, however the problem is that she owns a Bloodthirster and not Magnus, and she wants to use it (it's a pricey and beautiful model after all), so she won't switch him for Magnus yet She doesn't own any Berserkers either, but intends to buy a Rhino for the Rubricae. The original question was to know if the aforementioned list, which contains almost only the models she currently owns, was a viable list in a casual setting.
