I am going to be playing a game of 40K with my friend in about a weeks time, and both us will be using SM Armies (Ultramarines) against each other. I was wondering what i should take with me out of this list:

My friends list is pretty much the same as mine, so could someone tell me what i should take for a 2500 Pt List Game?

Just realized my title mistake, meant SM vs SM. I was thinking of his other army by mistake.

Personally, having faced Guilliman, he's not a very fun model. He has no weakness, so there is no counterplay to him. He just stands there and either you throw everything at him, or he keeps hanging around. He comes at a fairly high cost (although compared to how good he is, he's not expensive) which means you get less everything else. Stuff that's fun to play around with, you know?

So he's a roadblock to fun. He's not fun to face and he removes fun from your own army.

Basically, if I were in your shoes, I'd phone up my friend and tell him "no Roboute, k?" If one of you takes him, the other should too, so that you're at least on even footing. At least then you might get to have a fun Guilliman showdown. It would be better without him, though.

In my group, we have always stayed away from the huger models, just because we like the multiple model skirmish game feel of smaller scale 40k, so we don't really have a bunch of Lords of War to play around, and Guilliman made us houserule "No Lords of War" for most of our games. And not because he was ridiculously powerful. He has lost most games he has been in. He just makes the game more death-star-like wherever he is.

Just do a mirror match with your friend.
