Hello all, so recently acquired a Tau force, used to play them back in 6th edition, and wanted to try out some of my favorite units in a farsight style list for 8th.

Is it optimal probably not, is it competitive no idea, but it looks fun as hell to play and can't wait to try it in a couple of games tomorrow.

Post nerf don't take shield drones and you know tetras shoot at-1 bs if they move (unless FW changes it next week)

If you're running Broadsides, why would you not take shield drones? They make the already unkillable unit even more unkillable.

Because the FAQ changed how drones work. Now they take a mortal wound, instead of being allocated a wound. The invul save is now useless, so might as well use a gun drone instead. You get some shooting and the same protection.

Riptide is way to expensive to use man. It got the nerf bat hard for being an actual good tau unit in 7th. You'd be better off taking 2 broadsides every time. I'd say since you have so many broadsides already maybe consider taking long strike and another hammerhead. Longstrike has been MVP every game I have used him.
