Has anyone built or tried a full Nidzilla list in 8th? How have you found it?
Can you go exclusively big bug or do you need a few gribbles at least for bubblewrap / obj capping / cannon fodder etc?

It can work, but it's also tough for the big bugs to get into the thick of things fast enough to chew through the long range stuff that's going to kill them. I'm with pinecone. Grab some smaller support units
You need methods to deal 1 damage to 30 guardsmen.
You need to be able to kill 30 ork boys.
A single Hive Tyrant in combat can really only kill like 5-6 depending on his attacks, if he rolls perfectly.
You also need troops to be able to take objectives via model count.
Also there are so many point-and-click MEGA range artillery guns and tanks most imperium/Tau/Eldar armies have, you really want to mitigate the effectiveness of their Las-Cannon spam...And 30 Hormagaunts/Genestealers in their face on turn 1/2 is a good way to do that.
Playing with even small hordes is pretty easy now without templates in the game. I'm totally an elite monster > hordes kind of player and I really didn't mind moving up the little blob at all.
