Played against Eldrad last night. He has a horribly-worded rule that gives him +1 to subsequent Pychic tests if he manifests a power. Opponent thinks it's cumulative, so tended to start with Smite for an easy 5+ success, then do a level 7 Power which became 6+, then another 7 which became 5+. I was of a mind it was a flat +1 to other tests if a power goes off, not +1 for each.

Anyone with the Codex to hand and experience of Eldrad in 8th know how this should be played? I don't have his exact rule wording here but it has a garbled last sentence from memory.

Very definitely NOT cumulative. It says "Whenever you pass a Psychic test for Eldrad Ulthran, you can add 1 to the next Psychic test you take for him until the end of the phase", and not "add one to your Psychic Tests for the rest of the phase". So if Eldrad casts Smite successfully, his next power is 1 easier, and if he casts that, the one afterwards is ALSO 1 easier. Definitely not cumulative.

The only reason it has the "until the end of the phase" rider is because they want to point out that this doesn't last through to your next turn (such that if his last power goes off for the turn, your first power next turn for him does NOT benefit from the +1)..

Just once. I have played it wrong myself but on reading it again it says the +1 just applies to "the nest Psychic test" not all subsequent tests.
