So I bought my Imperial Armour book from forgeworld to get my rules for my Fellblade and Glaive to be confronted with only the Falchion and Fellblade being in the book. Concerned I emailed FW and to my dismay this was the response I was given:
Re: Glaive super heavy.
Forgeworld to you

Hi my name,
Thank you for your email. The Legion Glaive is a Horus Heresy only vehicle and is not a 40k one, this is why no rules appear for it in the new Index books.

How would you rate my reply?

So now I'm left with homebrewing the rules for a 250 dollar tank I bought back in 6th edition for 40k not to mention I don't know anyone who plays 30k.

Did it ever have 40k rules though? Even in 6th i thought it was heresy only? If it did then that sucks and you wish you the best in home brewing rules. To be fair all the 8th ed fw stuff has been a total crock of so far. So many missed units/options/broken rules/useless things

It's like that at some point the HH game will shift to 8th, but beyond that - yep, you'll be house-ruling. I don't know much about the Glaive - what other tank is it closest to?

I'd take a tank which share's it's chassis and use that stat-line, then find the most likely "gun" match and then add a few points so people don't complain.

The only Space Marine super-heavy tank to get rules in 7th edition 40k was the Fellblade. The Glaive and Falchion were only legal for Heresy-era games.

Admittedly when 40k and Horus Heresy used the same core rules, it was easier to ignore that. You could take a bash at coming up with your own datasheet for it. Start with the falchion, and scale the Volkite up from smaller equivalents.

The Glaive is a variant of the Fellblade Super heavy with a volkite carronade. I am pretty certain that you could play both the Falchion and Glaive in apocalypse games as I have done so before. I would imagine the main issue with the Glaive is how to handle the gun because previously it was draw a line and anything under it gets hit, but I don't really understand why they couldn't make appropriate rules for the gun as they did already for both the Fellblade and Falchion seems kinda lazy imo.

The Glaive never had official 40K rules and was never an option for a 40K army. You could use the 30K rules in Apocalypse unofficialy as they were the same rule set and stats, but now you can't because they aren't.

Wait, so you bought a Glaive (Despite it not having 40k rules) to use in 40k

Now that the Ruleset has Changed, you're Complaining that it has no 8th ed rules?

maybe it will one day get them but I would not hold my breath. You have a 30k model that still has 30k rules, it was never sanctioned for 40k use with balanced 40k rules. People certainly still ran them and it was kind of compatible (though unbalanced points wise often 30k stuff would be undercosted) but still not tournament legal in the big ones maybe a local tournament would let it slide but no respectable high level one would have likely allowed its use.

I have a lot of custodies models that are only legal in 30k but I go them to model and paint (jet bikes, the 2 big dreds a couple transports/ grav tanks) I would be stoked it they got 40k rules, but I am not expecting them to.

I got a Vultarax Stratos-Automata just because I wanted it in my collection. I just think it's that ballin'. I don't play 30k and while it would be cool to get 40k rules for it, I'm not gonna cry if I don't get that.
I'll probably run it counts-as some SM flier in friendly games, but in the end, if you buy a 30k model to use in 40k, you've gotta expect that might not be street-legal.
