Take a hellforged predator with a flamestorm cannon and two heavy flamers and warptime him right into your opponents face. His guns can completely wreck infantry and even vehicles, and no one will want to counter-charge him. Then charge him into a unit to negate their shooting next turn. My question is: is he going to draw enough firepower to be worthwhile competitively? Is he a good enough distraction to help your other units move up the field unmolested?

Ultimately it's just a predator with 4 heavy flamers. You could kill 5 marines or put 3-4 wounds on a rhino and then get blown up for the pleasure.

The flamestorm does do 2 damage each, but, probably not the best use of points.

I think it's a fun idea. Can you add a havoc launcher to it as well? That'd be a ton of Strength 5 silliness. Best/points viable? Who knows, but entertaining - even more so when you have the occasional turn where you luck out and get 20+ hits off with it.

You can, indeed. 5d6 s5 shots, 4d6 of which auto hits.

Personally I think you'd get more use out of a standard predator with heavy bolters and autocannon
