I'm curious to see if people think that Marbo will be returning with the new Guard codex. It seemed odd that GW would release him like that at the end of 7th only to have him absent from the new index. 

I for one hope he does return. He was an auto include in all of my builds back in 5th. Not that he was particularly amazing he was just a fun fluffly model that if used properly could deliver a pretty good punch to the right targets. ‎

Having bought Traitor Legions, I feel you on how its just icky that GW would release rules knowing they would have such a short shelf life!

To answer your question though, does Marbo have an official GW model?

The old characters are kinda in a weird space right now. Technically, most normal humans who don't have access to the elite medical treatments should be dead (unless they screwed with the timeline even more, I've honestly have been reluctant to dive into that mess). But warp shenanigans and the like could change that.

The fact he wasn't included as a legacy unit in the index makes me think sly in particular is unlikely to come back. Who knows though.

Well, he had a model.... and it's not hard to create one. My guess is that he'll be in the catachan section of the new Guard codex.

Honestly, I think they are rather high. With the Guard Codex coming out hopfully soon, I think he will be in there with the other catachan forces.

I think this for two main reasons. The first being at the end of 7th, they added him, just for gaks and giggles. The second, it would make most guard players buy a box of catachans command box (I know I did) to custom build his model.

He'll be back, demo charge and all and I will be only too happy to devour him.

In all honesty, I hope his return makes him more than just a dude with a bomb.

and there was an official model long ago if memory serves correctly so hopefully... though if this is president we will see them 2 months before 9th edition!

Seriously tho, I can easily see him being added to Catachans IG. Similar to how Death Guard CSM exist.

I'm kind of surprised that IG doesn't have some kind of inflitrating commando unit.

My army is themed around long range reconnaissance, ambushing, etc. A unit like that would make me so happy, but the chances of that happening are unlikely.

but it was a conversion. even GW lost their molds for him

Chances are unless they redo the catachan line for real we wont get him.

But there is always the eversor assassin slot

Thats a conversion off of a bunch of catachan bits and a scout knife. and tank commander legs

That PDF is for SHADOW WARS

he is technically back in 40k but not in 8th edition.

His actual model was discontinued and the picture in the PDF is a conversion....

He did though, and many are still floating around. It's not like he's hard to convert either.

I'd say we have a decent chance in the codex. If not the codex, then he'll definitely show up in a white dwarf or something like he did at the end of 7th. He's just too popular for GW to ignore him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a new model when the IG codex drops honestly, although that's probably not super likely
