Anyone have any input on woodland scenic snow vs the new GW texture snow?

I havent tried ether but from what i can tell Woodland scenic is loose while the textures snow paint is premixed paint.

I have used the woodland scenic quite a bit, and been happy with it. I am unfamiliar with the GW stuff. I am no expert painter, but here is a few pics using the woodland scenic so you can see how it looks on a base.
This first pic I took a white painted base, put a very light lavender on it (my concept was a little alien bit of snow) and then pvs glue sprinkled with the woodland scenic snow. looks like this:

This page here has a bunch of snow using woodland scenic, pva glue, and a base already colorized.

On this page, near the bottom is a command squad where I mixed the Scenic snow with PVA glue and THEN spread it onto the base. Slight difference, as this method makes it look like slush that has re-frozen.

Hope it helps somewhat. I'm no real expert.

Edit: I have found that multiple layers of sprinkled snow gives a deeper effect rather than trying to bulk out one layer if that makes sense.

I've been using it for my winter-themed DE. It works just fine, if not necessarily spectacularly.

Something to note. One layer of snow will let some of the color below show through. You can make use of this by painting the base (or whatever ground texture you use) and putting the snow over it. For example, my DE are exploiting their elfin ability to walk unhindered over snow and frozen mud. The bases are dark brown with a gentle light brown drybrush, and then the snow applied over the top. In areas with one layer the snow appears a bit dirty; areas with two layers look cleaner (and deeper).

One of the nice things about the big canister of Woodland Scenic snow: Sure, it costs a bit to get. Once you have it you'll have enough for several armies. I've used it on over 14,000 points worth of DE so far and I'm not even halfway through the canister.

I decided at a later point I wanted my dwarfs with a snow theme, so I dusted the bases with white paint. Since I used rather coarse material, it actually came out surprisingly well. Although, this is not a total snow covering, like you may be going for.

A cool (pun intended) piece on snow. Well worth a read regardless of your choice of modelling snow.

I have GW snow here and for my needs Sodium Bicarbonate mixed with White Glue (wood glue, PVA) is better.

I did a review of the GW snow effect a while back (I assume they're still selling the same stuff). I compared it to woodlands scenics stuff and also to microballoons.

Personally I've seen really nice results with bicarb using PVA, but I've heard too many reports of it yellowing and/or degrading over time to want to put it on my models. Some people say it never yellows, others say it yellows quickly, still others say it'll last a long time but will eventually degrade. Personally it takes me so long to assemble, paint and base my models that I'd rather stick to more stable options.

By far my favorite looking snow is a guy who used water effect and crushed glass, but he said it was a nightmare to work with and although he did one small army with it he wouldn't use it again.
