What song do you think fits best with each of the Space Marine Legions? (Not including Hmkids)
For me it would be:
Dark Angels: 'Paranoid' by Black Sabbath
Emperor's Children: 'The Beautiful People' by Marilyn Manson
Iron Warriors: 'Ironclad: Declaration of War' by Debauchery (It was even made for them!)
White Scars: 'I can't drive 55' by Sammy Hagar, 'Kickstart my Heart' by Motley Crue also works, Hell any driving and/or racing song works.
Space Wolves: Pretty much every song involving Vikings and/or Wolves.
Imperial Fists: 'Ten thousand fist' by Disturbed (couldn't think up much songs for them)
Night Lords: 'Nightcrawler' by Judas Priest
Blood Angels: 'We drink your blood' by Powerwolf
Iron Hands: 'I am a Cybernetic Organism' by Austrian Death Machine
World Eaters: Any song about brutality and slaying
Ultramarines: 'Honor thy father' by Dream Theater or the original Smurfs theme
Death Guard: 'Blessed are the Sick' by Morbid Angel
Thousand Sons: 'Powerslave' by Iron Maiden
Black Legion: 'The Conquering' by Black Moor
Word Bearers: 'Metal Church' by Metal Church
Salamanders: Any song about fire
Raven Guard: 'Professional Killer' by KMFDM (Couldn't find much for them)
Alpha Legion: 'Mystery' by Dio or some song about the Hydra.
I've never found the Marine Legions to be particularly enthusing. Mostly it's just "Power Armoured Guy who likes _____, but _____."
Power Armoured Guys who like wolves, but are too stubborn for their own good.
Power Armoured Guys who like/are vampires, but sometimes go full vampire.
Power Armoured Guys who like sorcery, but are arrogant about it.
Power Armoured Guys who are Batman, but the IOM is super-ultra-mega Gotham.
But on occasion, I imagine they might be something more that what GW will ever publish. And on those occasions...
Night Lords: Anti-Nightcore: Heathens - Slow, depressing... Night Lords never quite fit on the same wavelength as the other Legions.
Word Bearers: Salil as-Sawarim - Not for too many musical reasons, but I've watched the original video this was stripped from. Word Bearers almost certainly think of themselves in this way. The only thing in life I found to be legitimately terrifying.
These aren't Legionnaires, but they are First Founding and had a solid start in their Legion:
Black Templars: Linkin Park: A Light That Never Comes - "You cannot stop, much less control, me!" So fitting for a mini legion that runs around telling the Inquisition, Heretics, Xenos, Guilliman, and any other obstacle to go eat a bag of chainswords.
The Heretic Anthem by Slipknot for pretty much any chaos army.
“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."
