Hello all, curious as to the thoughts on strength/weaknesses or recommendations for the following list.

Taurox Prime - 2x Autocannons, Gatling Cannon
Taurox Prime - 2x Autocannons, Gatling Cannon
Strategy - Infantry Squads hold objectives at home, Taurox either stand and shoot or move ahead (Try using them to block sniper LOS to Characters).
Conscripts move for objectives or stay as a meatshield.
Scions, hold since shooting shouldn't be needed until turn 3. Preferably move to contest one objective or steal from the enemy.
Ratlings shoot enemy characters commissars etc.
Manticores shoot large W/T targets first then, terminators and such, then regular troops if the above are all dead. Around turn 4/5 move to objectives
Heavy weapon teams shoot whatever is available.
Ideally I table people, especially for kill points. Although ITC format is based on unit power lever which is nice.

1. What detachments are you using?
2. Are your Scions in squads of 5 or 10? I assume 5? I think you should combine two of them into a squad of 10, and turn the other one into a command squad. Then you should consider picking up a Tempestor.
3. You've got 3 company commanders. Statistically, HWS are not worth giving an order to, unless you've just got a spare commander to meet the HQ tax. I'd say switch one to a Tempestor.
4. You've got no astropaths. Get astropaths. They're only 15 points and they're full of awesome.
5. I'm not a fan of the autocannons. They're too expensive to be spare wounds for your lascannons.
6. You have 30 HWTs. 30. Wow. That's going to take up a lot of space.
I'd be interested to see how it plays out though, can you do some battle reports once its in action?

3 spearheads.
I like the 5 man squads for the versatility drop wise. Although I would have liked 10 man squads better, atm I don't have the models for them.
I likely will do more LC/Mortars and take away all of the AC just don't have enough put together at the moment. Plan to eventually do 2-1 LC-Mortar squads. Considered Yarrick a lot or Harker for the reroll ones bubble.
I wanted a commander for each conscript squad just as well as required for the spearhead Detatchments.
Was on the edge of astropath instead of ratlings
.
With first turn against an army that wants to reserve their army or very low model count i expect to table then by sheer firepower. . Played some smaller point games with no manticores and was tabeling everyone within 3 turns for 5 games now. However going second means the enemy has the first shooting phase which could end badly given the right build but they have a lot of hurt to shoot at the conscript horde, manticores/taurox. Automatically Appended Next Post: And i will try to at least do some simple pics before/after each player turn when I get a chance to play with this list.

I'm putting a heavy weapon squad together right now. I made the mortars and lascannons per standard, gave the missile launcher to a standing infantry, and I used some leftover parts from the Taurox track system (I use wheels because I hate the tracks) for the Heavy Bolter stands. I haven't decided what to do about the auto cannons (or if I'll bother since they're so overpriced this edition). Did you use the normal tripod for your AC or did you convert something up?

Correct I used the tripod for my ACs I've always been a fan of them and hopefully they go down to 10points in the codex and ML to 15-16ish then might be harder than just choosing LCs

Autocannon has always been my favorite heavy for Guard infantry units. 1 less S from a missle, 2 less from a lascannon, not the greatest AP, BUT.... don't ever let anyone convince you that a 48 inch reach that now deals 2 damage and most critically has TWO SHOTS is not worth taking. A decent heavy weapon that will average one hit Every turn can be huge next to a lascannon that half of the time will miss and therefore help you zero percent is a nice toy to bring to any party. That said, i have left the days of infantry heavy lists and have become a huge tread head. Though im always happy to see it when someone retains the enormous pile of meat strategy.
Please do on the pics/mild bat rep. Im am very curious indeed.

My list looks like it will change again. From the above slightly, I looked into take the prime and command squad, with a group or two of scions. May drop one heavy weapons team to open room and the ratlings for some more wiggle room since I dont think 5 ratlings will add a terrible lot for the points.
Thankfully painting isnt required atm, since I am a tediously slow painter but playing IG and layering infantry can take it's time ha.
