Hey there,

I've made some good progress on my IG army and wanted to show you what I've got so far.

The theme is tundra/winter based, also a bit valhallan but more modern. The backstory is not finished yet but they come from a nomadic and harsh temperated planet, thus having to be mobile and self sufficient for longer periods of time.
The models are modified with headswaps and greenstuff to represent fur collars, blanket rolls and hoods.

hope you like them! I'll keep updating this thread.

enjoy

When you post you want to add the [img] codes around the photos. otherwise most people won't bother clicking the link since they don't see anything when they enter the thread

They look ace!

Thanks for sharing, everything is really good, from the plasma with osl, the infantry and the weathering.

2 questions:

Love the heads on the officers, where are they from?

How did you do the weathering as it is top notch, most obviously on the crashed lander.

PS. FYI nobody will comment if there are not pictures in the thread as people are lazy

Baron, don't forget to talk about the SEALs and Marines you habitually beat up on 2 and 3 at a time, as you PM'd me about.

Thanks for the advice and the commendations, I've added some images to the OP!

The weathering is made by using the hairspray method (brown primer -> hairspray -> blue primer) when you soak the blue paint with water you can scrap it off using a toothpick or something similar to get this effect! I also use pigments for the dustyness and some rust effects from AK interactive!

Great Work on the customization of the Imperial Guard model miniatures! I like the color scheme You chose.

I enjoy seeing Winter themed Guard models.

The Valkyrie has some really nice weathering effects on it.

I look forward to seeing the massed army. It is probably going to take You a minute to do all the custom modeling & get everything painted.

If this is just the beginning it is a fantastic start!

Those are aggressively excellent! They remind me a bit of the rebel troops on Hoth. All around excellent job.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Very nice-- a subdued paint job and some new heads goes a really long way in salvaging the line, and those collars work well.
