Coiledspring is reporting early success for the game during its pre-order period ahead of its full launch this October.

Coiledspring has secured the UK distribution rights for Games Workshop’s popular table top title, Talisman: The Magical Quest Game.

The new partnership will see Coiledspring deliver the board game and its six expansion games to retailers up and down the country.

First published in 1983, Talisman takes players on a journey through magical lands as players endeavour to reclaim the Crown of Command.

Coiledspring is reporting early success for the game during its pre-order period ahead of its full launch this October.

Coiledspring MD, Roger Martin, said: “We are delighted to add such an iconic game to our catalogue and bring this fantastic range to our customers.”

Rory Kelly, key account manager at Coiledspring, added: "There has been a lot of anticipation around this since Games Workshop took back ownership of the rights to the game in February so this represents a great opportunity for us to continue to grow the game across the UK & Ireland."

I have heard but cannot confirm that this will be compatible -- more or less identical was the phrasing -- with the FFG released game and expansions.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Talisman is back! Get ready to return to a world of magic, monsters and heroism and write your own story in this classic board game, out in bookstores and hobby shops across the world this Christmas.

Talisman pits 2-6 players against one another in an epic quest for the Crown of Command, travelling through mysterious lands and magical realms in pursuit of knowledge, power, and of course, a powerful talisman of their own. With hundreds of adventures and a range of expansions, no two journeys through the lands of Talisman need be the same; venture into distant lands and meet mysterious travellers – only the very strongest will pass through the Portal of Power.

Talisman will be releasing soon, alongside six expansions with new realms to explore, new enemies to battle and new power to unlock; dive into the depths of The City or brave the lair of The Dragon. However you want your adventure to be, you’ll be able to start it very soon – Talisman will be out in time for Christmas this year.

Hmm....

I was honestly kind of hoping they would do their own thing again like 3rd edition, for whatever that's worth.

I was always fond of the overly elaborate version.

We played 4th a fair amount, but it got bogged down under its own weight with all the expansions. Don't think I ever saw close to everything all those cards had to offer.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

The only thing I really care about are the miniatures they'll be including. Hopefully they won't be using the FFG ones.

Huh yeah..

.. maybe GW can release/do the minis for the game now then ?

Perhaps drag out some old classics from the vaults if it's not practical to do all new sculpts.

Darn, so it turns out those FFG boxes I panic bought will NOT pay for the girls' college...
