I'm thinking of building a small raiding force of space pirates. While the most obvious choices for this would be either Dark Eldar, Orks or a Huron Blackheart-themed force, I would rather have non-Chaos humans; just regular outlaws boarding ships and plundering space ports and colonies in the Elysian sector. They will probably be using Militarum Tempestus rules; on paper at least, Militarum Tempestus seem pretty solid in this edition.

The basic idea is to glue Catachan arms and heads to Tempestus torsoes and legs, as those bare arms and bandanas sure look very piratey.

In terms of color, they won't have a unifying theme, save for their lack of unifying theme. Pirates are individualists and nonconformists, and each tries to outdo the others in terms of bling. Their vehicles will look rusty; the Taurox's ungainly design, which I tend to dislike, will be perfect here.

Perhaps I'll add some Ogryns or Bullgryns as well. They make a lot of sense in a pirate gang.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Pirates are the perfect excuse to look to mixing and matching with other manufacturers! Deadzone Enforcer Pathfinders might be worth a look-see, as well as Anvil Industry, Puppetswar and Warzone Resurrection; all have excellent Sci-fi humans worth investigating!

That sounds great, Guardsman. My only suggestion is to post up some pics as you make progress.
