I started playing again 8th edition. I never threw anything away, but I did use some bits for modding. Quilt a lot.

I bought at least 5 carnifex kits. One is assembled. The others where converted, I don't know. I am trying to assemble some now.

I do hovever not find all my big scuthing tallons (carnifex came with 2 pair?)

I do not find my devourers. And quite few deathspitters. Did i loose them all? Did they not come in all the sets? I am confused. And my OCD is nagging me.

They came with them all yes, but since twin devourers were the weapon of choice for whichever units could take them (flyrants!) I'm guessing you used them elsewhere.

The reason I am asking is that I think the carnifex got a box upgrade at some point?

I have 4 devourers.on the one that is an actual carnifex. I also have 4 og the other s7 gun. In theory I should have 10 of both, yes?

I dont think the carnifex ever got an update after the plastic kit that came out in 4th edition.

Each fex came with I think 6 head variants (with 2 of the heads, the damaged "old one eye" one and the normal head sharing the left side). This included the Bio-plasma, Enhanced Senses, Acid Tongue and Tusks (which were all upgrades at one point, but are now just for decoration).

As for weapons, it came with a pair of Devourers, a pair of Deathspitters, one Heavy Venom Cannon, one Stranglethorn cannon, one pair of Crushing Claws, and two pairs of Scything Talons. One set of Scything Talons came on the carnifex sprues themselves, another set came on the "Monstrous bioweapons" sprue that the carnifex, at the time, shared with the metal Hive Tyrant. It also came with three types of carapace, use to represent spinebanks and spore cysts before.

With this knowledge I have dug through boxes of plastic bits. I found all devourers.

Unfortunatly my deathspitters, at least 4 of them, where used to make boneswords on the swarmlord (this was before the plastic kit.) I think 1 more pair went to make a tervigon, one that got scrapped to scratchbuild a carnifex now.

Unfortunatly deathspitters and not devourers seems to be the 8th edition winner. But I found them, even if they are destroyed.. :-D
