So how is everyone equipping these guys? Just power mauls and shields? Or are you mixing and matching power mauls and grenade gauntlets?

I have 6 of them on the way and I plan on mixing up 50/50 or so with the two types of shields, and possibly even toying with the idea of 50/50 gauntlets and power mauls to give them a bit of punch just before an assault.

100% mauls.

I've done a couple 4++ shields, but in my big unit of 9 I have 3 of the little shields. The 2+ shields are really solid, especially if as I do you pair them with a psyker casting the +1sv power.

What feels like a good slabshield to power shield ratio? I'm thinking 4 guys with the 2+ and 2 with the 4++.

Yeah, you only really want the 4++ if you get a lascannon or better to the face, and that rarely happens if they're guarding tanks.

Mauls and Slabshields.

Add a Primaris Psyker for that 1+ Armoursave, then go to town on anything that moves.

The Gauntlet is garbage. If it was free I'd see the point in it, maybe. But now it even costs more than the maul.

Any decent delivery options for them? Seems like since they count as 3 models in a transport they are in a bit of an odd spot if you intend on bringing more than 4 in a unit in something like a taurox or vakyrie.

Besides bringing a stormlord or breaking up the squad, is their only real choice to footslog?

Honestly I think they're prime targets for transports because you don't lose any shooting by having them in the box.

4 'gryns in a valkyrie are amazing, but I use 9 as a screen from alpha strikers, and I like them together because I can put one psychic power on all of them at once.

My bullgryns are defense first, offense second, so I run a huge unit.
