Just a quick question out there for people if they would allow my friend to field the following:

First is a Chaos Hellhammer super battle tank. What we do is I let him use it by removing all the keywords from the hellhammer and replace them with Chaos, Mark of, heretic astartes, <legion>. We only use super heavies in 2000+ games, but I think it is fair to let him use it (especially since he got it from me) even though there are no official rules for these to my knowledge. Also it is converted to a chaos tank with all the imperial stuff taken off and it is "chaosified" including a CSM gunner in the turret.

Second is I came into some painted beastmen from Fantasy. I was going to use them as proxy tzzangors, but I ended up getting painted tzzangors, so I don't need them. I let my buddy use them as beastman, which use all the same rules as tzzangors, but they lose the 5++, take the <legion> keyword instead of thousand sons, and we make them 1 pt cheaper, 6pts.

I know tournaments will not allow the above, but in friendly games or club games would anyone have an issue with the above?

Sounds fine to me. I hope that people in general would be more open to stuff like this.

I probably wouldn't let him use it myself, but it's not my game and not my decision to make. He should certainly clear it with the other player before attempting to bring any of that to a game.

If it were me I'd suggest that he use the Hellhammer as a proxy for one of the FW hellforged superheavies.

With the Hellhammer absolutely, no reason chaos cant have a Baneblade variant, this has happened in the universe millions of times, where tanks and weapons have changed hands and loyality. And i think that is the right way to do it with the marks, and chaos rules. I would totally allow it!

The Beastmen/Tzaangors sounds abit wierd. He wants to play Tzaangors even tho he isnt 1000 sons? I think that is something much more unique and specific to a certain army. For example if i saw Wulfen being used by a Raven Guard player, i would be abit "what the hell is going on!?". In respect to the thousand sons players, i would say no. In respect of playing the game you like i would say yes. If that makes any sense?

In a casual game why not? Would be fun. I would require a backstory as to how chaos ended up with the tank.

I'd insist the Beastmen use the Mutant Rabble unit type from FW Index AM, since they are literally a rabble of mutants. Which would lose them the Legion keywords but more accurately portray what they are.

The same with the Hellhammer. Renegades and Heretics can take a Baneblade, so I'd say in pick-up games that it should be a Baneblade from that Army List, following all the rules that are presented there. CSM gunner aside, it's still a Renegade Guard tank. In some sort of narrative game or something agreed on beforehand, then I'm more lenient on what pattern Baneblade it is, but 100% of the time it would have to be from Renegades and Heretics, not CSM.

I would not mind any of them. Renegades and Heretics should have access to more of the Imperium superheavies, as they previously could take rare vehicles such as the Valdor or Minotaur. In fact, I would appreciate if you could actually build something akin to the more organised chaos forces (e.g. Blood Pact) you could before instead of just having the gakky renegade militas we have now.

About the Beastmen, use them as Renegade Mutant Rabble if nothing else?

I would be a little miffed that the game wasn't going to be of any value to me but there's nothing...inherently wrong with it.

The mutant rabble rules are in a FW index right?

The Astra Militarum one, yes. It's not in the Chaos one.

It's irrelevant if we would "allow" it. It's your game, your friend, your models. Don't fall into the "only tournaments matter!" nonsense mentality.
