So after a month of thinking (reading the faction stories, writing dozens of army lists, ripping them up, second guessing my arm choice about 50 times) I have succumb to the GW marketing machine and have a whole bunch of Primaris Marines and a second hand Storm Raven sitting on my hobby bench waiting to be painted!

They are either going to be painted as Imperial Fists or Salamanders, final decision will be made once the Codex comes out. However, before then I am keen to get an idea as to which third party site I should be looking at for bases? Yes, I could simply use the ones in the kits however If I am going through the effort of building a brand new army from scratch I figured why not go the full hog and get some custom bases.

So apart from giving me some crap re-buying into Primaris, I would really love some advice and/or direction as to potential bases that I could get that might fit either Imperial Fist or Salamanders!

p.s. I am aware that none of my current models can fly in the Strom Raven, it was cheap and I didn't have one already.

Thanks in advance!

Hi.

For my Salamanders, I used the resin Lava bases from Dark Arts:

Good quality casts, and they have a guide on how to paint them on their website.

Here's a couple of pics of mine:

Consider putting everything on literally the biggest possible base that you can find. It's technically permissible, given the ruleset.

Put everything on a literal pie plate.

Nice useless suggestion. The question is about stylistic choices. This solution is just obtuse at best.

GW's plastic Sector Imperialis and Sector Mechanicus bases are pretty decent. I've been mainly using those myself. You can also easily mix both styles without it looking weird.

Dragon Forge and Secret Weapon have a nice selection.
