Hello all,

I'm about to embark on a new grey knights army, coming from Tau.
I find myself writing lists that i tend like the look of, but i notice a lack of dedicated anti armour about.

Is the only way to deal with say, enemy flyers, multiple transports tying units up, a matter of using my own Gunship?
I'm not sure of the effectiveness of using Razorbacks with Lascannons or demon hammers and hoping some strike teams make it to melee (well, not against enemy flyers)

Is this the only viable option though?

Keeping it solely within a Grey Knights force, and with just the index so far, you're a bit limited.

Melee, if you can get your units on to a vehicle, are your best best. A bunch of Hammerhanded up Nemesis weapons of whatever sort can tear some wounds off vehicles fairly reliably. Wounding vehicles on 4s if you use Halberds, up to T10.
Hammerhanded Swords can wound T8 on 5s, instead of 6s. I'd definetly prefer taking Halberds or Hammers vs T8 Vehicles.

Razorbacks are a solid option.
Psycannons are decent at wounding vehicles.

Not as ideal options, but options at least.
Psilencers can do the job through sheer volume of shots and D3 damage.
Storm Bolters can also pour on the fire, and just hope you get shots through.

hm? Lascannon Dreads, Lascannon Razorback, Lascannon Stormraven.

You probably won't be able to take Mech-Spam very well with pure GK.

Put HH on Falchion units and wound anything on 5s.

None of the GK specific units do well against high toughness models. That's not the focus of the army, so you'll be using the borrowed Dreadnoughts/Razorback/StormRaven, or allies.

NDK's heavy psycannon is solid. It's 2 damage per shot.

For toughness 8, you'll need melee. You should have at least 1 daemon hammer, and a beat stick HQ on the table at all times.

If you run into a parking lot, your goal would be to get your HQ, and your Terminators / Paladins into melee with them. Volume of dice, + strength 8/9 weapons is your best bet.

But storm ravens are solid, so are land raiders since you can gate them into MM range.

If we're talking T8 then there are some things to consider. At T7 mass storm bolters and Psilencers can kill just about anything. Don't forget you also have smite in every unit which deals mortal wounds and can help whittle down armor.

Doomglaives are great for dealing with transports and other tough units. Hammers on paragons and justicars is also great do to the high str and 3 damage from the hammer.

Don't forget Smite spamming. You're only gonna add 1 wound per unit, but it helps you get some armor over the degrading point.

This. Concentrated smite can put quite a few wounds a turn out with can in turn soften up a vehicle to be finished off by shooting, then charge something else.

Your best bet right now is the mighty Stormraven with appropriate load out.

Riffleman dreads are also a pretty solid option if the vehicle's save isn't too great (or has quantum shielding).

I know some people seem to like Purgation squads with 4 psilencers... Haven't tried that one out yet though.
