Hi guys,
I've just opened a new pot of imperial primer at its all "gloopy" for want of a better word, really runny at the top and hard at the bottom of the pot?
This is the second new pot in a row that this has happened with, is this normal, and I'm missing a step. or am I getting duff paint?

In my opinion, it's crap. Get yourself a decent rattle can or airbrush primer instead.

My two bottles came exactly the same. Just scoop and add some water.
And you definitely can't go wrong with rattle can.

If you want to use the brush on stuff, I do because it's not always optimal to use rattle can, try the Vallejo brush on, I've never had issues with it before, and it comes in black, grey and white instead of just black. The Imperial Primer is not good.

Also, I might be the only person that wants Gee Dubz to make 'Uplifting Imperial Primer' that's a grey primer, because dumb jokes.

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.

Do note if using vallejo, shake well before using, don't wet the brush before brushing on, and let sit at least 24 hours before trying to paint it. Ignoring the first two tend to result in excessive runnyness, last one is to avoid flaking off as you paint.

Also, clean your brushes thouroughly afterwards, or use a cheap brush--it'll happily prime your bristles a little at a time, and i've got the clogged 1/4 flat brush to prove it

I'll second everyone else and say get a different primer. It is supposed to be like that in the pot, though. Stir it up very well and it'll work. It just requires a lot of effort to make work.

As an aside, thinned down, it makes a really great black wash.

If you want a good paint on primer, just use the Vallejo surface primer. The white one is about the only one that actually has to be air brushed to work.

I use the black and light grey as paint on primer all the time
