How long have Poxwalkers been around ?
I looked in 7th edition codex and couldnt find them
When putting together a set of poxwalkers I noticed that one had a bionic arm and hand, 2 have rifles, and one has what looks to be a flamer yet poxwalkers have no range attacks ?

Poxwalkers are renamed Plague Zombies, for all intents and purposes.
The sculptor of the kit said that they have the trappings of their former lives on them, with you being able to tell if it was a Servitor/Menial or a PDF member based on the bits o' kit present.

Yep. They may have some weapons but they're too braindead to use them properly.

Yeah. It seems Typhus and Necrosius aren't as badass as the Zombieleader in "Land of the dead" - who indeed tought the Zombies how to use their guns ,

Cultist of Nurgle with Open Sores

If you actually look at the models, they do NOT carry any ranged weapons.
Some are modeled with rifle cases used as a pole that have a blade tied to them. Its parts put together to make "improvised weapons".
There is no flamer either. Its the tip of a flamer with 3 nails put through it....again tied to a pole.

Poxwalkers are technically a brand new unit for 8th edition, though previously an upgrade for cultist turned them into plague zombies which acted much the same.

I took a closer look and see what you are saying.

Previously, Typhus had the ability to change Cultists into Plague Zombies. They lost their ability to use their weaponry they were carrying and started using them as clubs. The models for Poxwalker is a very good representation of what a Cultist turned Plague Zombie (Poxwalker) would actually look like.
