Playing a game against my friend who is bringing tau this afternoon.

Is this list too strong for a tau list to handle? He should have a reasonably strong list as he has over 10k tau.

Hi. Sorry but I dont realy understand what's the point of this list...Why do you run Ynnari for? you just lose battle focus on your windraiders that allows you to move 22 and shot full bs..to get what? you must destroy a unit in 7 inches to get something back...and that is not really the right position for windriders, the rest gets nothing from being Ynnari...

Why don't you split the Reapers into 2 units of 3, you'll get another Exarch out of that and both units can still fit into the Serpent, you also get another MSU to soulburst off of.

Other than that (and the random Vyper for no reason) your list looks pretty solid, but hardly OP. Windriders are hugely nerfed this edition and even though they are still a good unit, they are also very easily dealt with, even if you are being careful with them.

If the T'au player has any units that have multiple wounds, you are going to have a hard time. Massed single damage weapons just are not the take-all answer in this edition, you absolutely need more weapons that do D6 damage. The Hemlocks are not going to be able to carry the weight on their own

I agree 100%.

However, I believe the OP is running Ynarri to cast "Word of the Phoenix" and SfD the Dark Reapers an extra round of shooting

The rest of the list, excluding the Wraithfighters, doesn't really compliment this particular combo.

In answer to the OP's question. I certainly wouldn't call this list broken and in need of being toned down. It's fast and speed is life. Although the Windriders won't benefit much from SfD unless it's the friendly units near by getting shot to pieces, if this is what you're comfortable playing have at it. I will say that I've tried Vypers and found them lacking in all the wrong ways. Love the model, but probably won't be running them except in extremely friendly games.

After the FAQ you can declare that the windriders are craftworld, and the rest is ynnari.

But the big problem is, that you will start with 12 units on the board.
Unless the tau player brings an MSU list, he will start the game, and shoot you.

He will most likely bring the upgrade for all his suits that gives +1 toHit against FLY... and that's almost all of your units.
