Ok, so I got excited about this version of 40k. I played a fair bit with my wife during 3rd edition, but she hated it - mainly because games were far too long and there was much book page flicking during gaming.

The 4th-7th editions made things worse. So I moved onto other games with her.

She loved Deadzone (v1) for a long while as all her character stats were on cards and she much prefered that to page flicking or hand writing or printing pages of stats with army builders. Mostly now we play games like Dungeon Saga which has character cards rather than wargames. Warpath and Maelstrom's Edge have had a few games as they have cards or pdf rulebook with printable datasheets.

Anyway, we tried 40k last night. Very simple using the final mission in the First Strike book. The rules were simple and all her stats were infront of her on cards. No page flicking.

I had already bought the 8th edition hardback and all 5 index books so we can use all the models we own from our collection.

What I'd like to do is print and laminate the unit cards for games, but the index book is too tightly bound to scan the pages I need. Does anyone know if I buy the epub3 files, if I can print the pages out from my PC so I can laminate the datasheets I want her to use in the game? Although I'm loathe to buy digital versions when I've bought the print versions, I'd rather do that and get a game than not gaming at all.

Gone-to-ground in the craters of Coventry

You can screen-grab the pages and sections you want.
It depends on the platform you access them from. PC, phone or otherwise.

No epub readers I have found allow you to print.

You either have to take screenshots and print, or work your wizzardry to either buy the fonts used or get free "close enough" replacements, extract the xhtml out of the epub, replace the mangled fonts with the "close enough" ones then print that out.
