Why would 1k Sons have a hellbrute? The model only comes with marine heads. So Im trying to justify it.

Vigo. Spain.

Magical Arcane Construct. A Space Marine soul (Not body) traped in a robot.
Like a Wraitlord but... more grimdark. And heretic.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

The guy inside wasn't a Thousand Son, or was a sorcerer, or was for some other reason immune or missed by the Rubric, or the visible head isn't actually a marine had but just a part of the Dreadnought mutated to look like a head...

Just off the top of my head.

I play thousand sons, my dreadnought is the old metal model from years ago. It fits well with the army (I hope they make a "rubric" dreadnought in the future) as doesn't have the mutations of the hellbrute. Forgeworld also made a thousand sons dreadnought, but I don't think they do anymore. You can probably find these on Ebay.

I'm pretty sure in Helbrute lore it even states that chaos are not above just outright putting people in the constructs against their will. I don't think I'd put it past them to nab a wounded space wolf and jamming him in the suit. Helbrute "operators" go insane as in "Tie him down and take the guns off!" so it doesn't matter where or who they put in the thing.

Helbrutes are actually mass produced compared to loyalist dreadnoughts, so it would not be all that surprising for them to all be using the "Default" template. Any kind of customization would be up to whoever acquires them later.

Thanks! I guessed i never thought about them forcing prisoners of war and breaking them, into a hellbrute body and mutating them for war!

Going with a Thousand Sons theme, it might make sense to have them as conquered foes forced to serve in the thrall of an exalted sorcerer. IIRC, 3rd edition allowed TS to take thrall wizards who would act as ablative wounds for your heroes.
