Short version:

45 Datasheets
Army Abilities / Wargear
Battle Forged Army Legion Traits
Dark Hereticus Psychic discipline, with power specific abilities.
14 Weapons / Relics
13 Warlord Traits, 6 generic and 7 Legion Specific

* Doesn't appear to include Chaos Demons, which means the Chaos Faction as a whole needs to wait for a second codex release to be complete (will it be part of the initial pre-Christmas 10?)
* Thousand Sons/Death Guard rules not included, which points to them getting their own unique Codecii
* Emperor's Children/World Eaters ARE included, which points to them NOT getting their own unique Codecii (weird that only 2/4 CSM God Legions would be getting Codecii, if this were the case)
* Price is currently listed at $34.99 versus the Space Marine Codex at $39.99 - oversight? It has about half the content (45 vs 85 datasheets), so; a cheaper price may be warranted.

Black Legion, the sequal to Talon of Horus comes out on the same date, so this adds some weight to the rumor IMHO

I don't think it will be Aug 5th. I have heard the same rumour stating Aug 12th. If it were the 5th it would be up for pre-order today.

But its definitely coming!

The linked article says it's available for pre-order on the 5th, and releases on the 22nd, which sounds much more likely when you consider that Grey Knights is supposed to come out first.

It's far more likely that while planned, it's so far off that they feel comfortable just adding the basic stuff to CSM for now rather then leaving them without.

Not totally weird. We only got one Daemonkin book, we got Tzeentch Friends much later, still haven't seen a Slaanesh anything in years outside of Sigmar, and Nurgle's getting his new hotness soon.

Only reason TS have a book at all is because they just made a bunch of models and rules for us last year. WE and EC won't get their book till they get the same model spam treatment. Which probably won't be until next year at the earliest, and that's if Chaos is the only other faction getting goodies with the Primaris marines. Poor Xenos players...

Look's like the 12th to me:

GW will certainly have plans for Khorne releases, likely next year though. The next chaos primarch is almost certainly gonna be Angron but I doubt they'd release him until after they've dropped another loyalist first. It's make sense to introduce WE and EC codexes when new models are released, which will for sure be when they drop their respective daemon primarchs. Might be some time before we see Slaanesh - they need time to figure out how to remove bewbs and drugs from the game.

Wish GW would be consistent though and either do all 4 cults to the same degree or do none at all. They need to up their chaos game badly.

Wonder which Sm chapter book will be first....Wolves, Dark Angels or Blood Angels? At the rate they are pumping them out, the first one should be pretty soon.
