Hi Everyone,
So, me and my friends have been inspired by the "Tale of four warlord" articles that have been featured in White Dwarf lately. If you don’t know its a little event where a few people start off with a start collecting box and slowly over the course of time work up to a full army using the pattern that White Dwarf has laid out for them
Well we have decided to do that, and what better way to stoke my ego then to make a blog about it on Dakka (or make me cry....we all know what we are)
The 3 people are Me , Quentin and Chrissy.
I’ll be doing Dark Eldar, Quentin is Adepticus Mechanicus and Chrissy will be doing Guard.
The first part of this project is the start collecting. Chrissy being British and weird has made her own "start collecting " out of some Steel legion, Chimera and a Commissar. What a freak.
I’ve been playing for like...3 months...but have been stockpiling miniatures like they would save me from nuclear fallout since 7th when I WAS going to play but realized I have no friends who actually like wargaming(or friends at all). By the time I had friend who liked wargaming (and me)the game had become a bloated mess and I’s have rather eaten razor blades washed with lemonade than wade through that mess. Then 8th ed dropped and I decided to jump in. Thank god I like it. I’ve chosen Dark Eldar cause there pretty cool looking...also I have a metric ton of
DE proxies from Raging heroes and I need to put some paint on them. I currently have a chaos force for Iron warriors and a slowly growing Eldar force
Quentin has been Gaming for about year. He started with Dark angels and moved to “Sons of Horus” for 30k before sliding back into
40k with grey knights when 8th ed hit. I think grey knights are stoopid and dumb and he is a stoopid cheaterhead with his all deep striking army (it’s my blog I can say what I want). He also Dabbles in “Warmachine” with Circle. He frequently laments his “cursed hands” which throw ones at the most inopportune moments. Having seen it happen…I vaguely have to agree. He's also a chef at a trendy restaurant.
Chrissy went above and beyond and typed this for us. I sense she’s going to be the problem child in this blog….
"Hi, I'm Chrissy. I've been gaming since around I was around 8 years old when I got Hero Quest in 1992 and I've been an avid gamer since, mostly playing Warhammer Fantasy Battle up until the end of 7th Edition, Kings Of War, Warpath and (obviously) Warhammer
40k since Rogue Trader (2nd Edition came out not long after I started playing).
Unlike my fellow gamers, I had no Start Collecting for my army of choice, which is Steel Legion - so I've gone with a Squad, a Commissar (which I conveniently had laying around) and a Chimera transport as a starter. I'm really not a fan of the Cadians and Steel Legion not only looked cool, but provided me with lots of modelling challenges as I'd have to convert Vox Casters, Banner-bearers, Snipers, Tank Crew ect. I'm looking to build an army that starts with Steel Legion and can potentially expand into Scions and possibly some Inquisition."
