So GW's article here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/07/22/codex-space-marines-has-landed/ states that Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves and Deathwatch can use the new primaris marines in their armies. They say to use the rules in the box and give the points on that website.

My question is which set of power for them should we use? my group plays match play with power instead of points. I got a box of Aggressors today and the rules in the box state they are 7 power for 3. However, the codex states 6 power for 3. Which one should I use for my guys if I don't buy the codex?

Also, say for the upcoming Inceptors box, say the box rules state 9 power (just making this up). Now, if I don't buy the box and just want to use my Dark Vengeance Inceptors, do I pay the 8 points from the Index that I have, the 9 power from the in box rules that I don't have or the 10 power from the Codex which I also don't have?

Right, but Codex Space Marines isn't the codex for BA/SW/DW/DA.

I'm thinking for those 4 chapters, we just use what's in the box even if it conflicts with Codex SM. Otherwise, we'd have to buy the Codex for the changes which isn't what GW is telling us to do. Also, if we had to use the codex, then all the power changes in the codex would also be used (like for terminators).

Of course if GW faqs it then it's' all solved anyway.

I think that until release of Codex for your army you must use relevant Index entries.
And if there are no Datasheets in Index you use those from Box.

I'm pretty sure you are not allowed to use Codex: Space Marines since that is not your army Codex...

It makes sense that agressors with access to chapter tactics and traits etc, come with increased power level, so I would say the rules in the box are fine for non codex marines.

Except if I use BA a's an example it specifis a list of SM data sheet's that we have access to such as whirlwind since these have been modified it makes sense to use the new values
