I did a search but I came up short on this question..

On the new Primaris models, how are the shoulder pads sized compared to the current range of Marine miniatures?

In short, would the Chapter/Legion specific pads provided by Forgeworld and/or the Deathwatch Kill Team sets work for these models? Or would they be small enough to be negatively noticeable?

The use the same size as normal Marines.

Intercessors, Hellblasters, Reivers -> normal shoulder pad
Gravis armour, Interceptors -> Terminator sized shoulder pads

Judging from the Primaris marines in the Dark Imperium set, the shoulderpads on the basic troops seems the same size as normal marine shoulderpads.
Though there are also the gravis armour, and the Inceptors, which have something resembling terminator shoulderpads and something in between, respectively.
Also if you happen to aim for some of the mono-pose Primaris, the shoulderpads can be cut off, but will require some work.

For this reason, I opted to go for homemade decals instead of trying replace the shoulderpads on the Primaris marines.

Thank you both for the quick replies.

I am hoping/assuming that when the Intercessor and Hellblaster kits come out in a few weeks, they are more typical in assembly and have the shoulder pads separate like the new Reivers are. I built a Raven Guard army back in 5th and got the giant FW decal sheet at the time. But after putting together the new Deathwatch Kits and seeing their molded Chapter Iconography, I like the look and the reduced hassle to paint them versus decal application and protection.
