The idea of this list is a more mobile Guard army that can be competitive without turning into a stormtrooper list. So I'm going with lots of APC-mounted squads and a little bit of fire support. The hope is that a mobile and somewhat aggressive IG force will catch opponents off guard (pun intended). Let me know what you do differently to achieve this.

The HWS, Sentinels, and two commanders stay back and provide fire support, the infantry squads pile into the Tauroxes and go places in groups of 3, the other two commanders, the CCSs, and the Astropaths load up into flamer Chimeras and wreck whatever face needs the most wrecking with the Hellhounds. I have enough mobility to get to objectives, and probably enough AT/anti-MEQ to clear them, but I'm not sure I have enough anti-infantry if I go up against blob armies, or enough in my backfield to fight off deepstrikers. I can dismount the infantry and sent the empty Tauroxes running off to cause trouble if I really need to hold my backfield, but I'm not sure it's enough.

Does this have any chance of working how I want it to?

How survivable are you finding lascannon heavy weapon squads? I haven't tried bringing them yet because I'm worried my opponent would just shoot them off the table at the first opportunity, and there goes 70 points.

They are glass cannons, but with so many vehicles and the good range on them, I'm hoping my opponent's damage 2+ guns are pointed elsewhere and the HWS are out of range of most of the anti-infantry guns. They are definitely squished by deepstrikers, but hopefully they've gotten a few turns of shooting in before that happens.

I feel like scions are the way to go for armored lists now. Chimeras got pricey and you can't shoot out of them meaning taurox primes are the way to go now. And for 5pts base more you can get a lot from the primes over the regular taurox. It just means you have to take scions.... But you can pack a lot of special weapons on them so their damage output is a lot higher, but there won't be as many of them.

On other notes, HF is desirable on the hellhounds and those chimeras are way too desirable targets with all those squads inside. Vehicles are more durable now but also sorta harder to hide.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

I really like this approach as a fellow tread head. From what i can see your biggest problem can also be your biggest strength- you don't have any obvious targets (except the command squads in chimeras, those will definitely be targeted early, and with good reason). Beyond that it looks like redundancy is your friend as everything else is so similar, or at least has another identical unit to replace another. You've definitely got mobility and some punch, but I can't help but feel like without some Russ or artillery backup you might find it lacking or not quite as tough as you need it to be. Especially in points like this where knights and such are likely to be staring at you. Just something to keep in mind. Thumbs up, let us know how it works.
