Sinister Chaos Marine




Hi all,
Here's a list revolving around 10 Giant Chaos Spawn and 13 Malefic Lords. The use of multiple detachments gives a very nice +8CP. The plan is to have the Spawn rush forwards, supported by Nurgle Heralds who can either Smite or cast Virulent Blessing for double damage. The Lords can sit behind the 150-mutant meat shield Smiting, and once within CC range can cast Unnatural Vigour to turn the Mutants into a more threatening combat force. Commander is for access to Covenants, and Enforcers sit with the mutants to make sure they don't die to morale. This list has limited mobility and anti-flier, so any C&C is appreciated. Cheers!

That list will be brutal! Nice. I was looking at something similar. The GCS have the chance to get really big and strong. They are very god bullet sponges and don't die very quickly.

I'd be tempted to tweak it into a brigade, to maximise CP. (More relevant when daemon codex drops for daemon strategems)

I was under the impression it was illegal to run units from multiple codices under the same detachment?

Not at all. You might not qualify for faction bonuses, but R&H and Daemons don't currently have any.

The only detachment requirement is sharing one faction keyword, which in this case is CHAOS.

Your list is not legal, I'm afraid. At 2k points, you can only use up to 3 detachments (page 214 of the rulebook)

1. I think you are limited to only 3 detachments at this points value, if playing matched play game.
2. With the exception of smite, can only cast the same spell once per turn with same army.
3. I'd like to see you rework the list and consider mobility and anti-flier

Those aren't rules, just guidelines for organized events and can be changed.
